I have a screen saver policy that is password protected and only
works when link to the domain. The environment is a W2K3 SP2 and
clients are XP SP2. All critical patches at the server and
workstations are all up to date.
OU1 computers are supposed to have a password protected screen saver.
OU2 computers with screen saver but no password.
UsersOU - Default Domain Policy and login banner
I have recreated the OU, check the RSoP for OU1 even down to a
specific workstation. The results show that the screen saver with
password is applied but when I login to the workstation, the screen
saver password is disabled and available for user setting.
Any suggestion is appreciated.
The screensaver is a per-user thing. So, if you're applying this GPO to an
OU that doesn't contain any users, there's your problem.
Take a look at your OU hierarchy....and if you need different computers to
have different settings, no matter which user logs into them, look into
loopback processing for the specific GPOs.
