Re: event 4015 and 4004 on W2K2 DC

Hello COB,

Please post an ipconfig /all from both DC/DNS servers. How is DNS setup, Active directory integrated zones? If not, i would change it, makes live easier. Check that you have configured the forwarders tab on all DNS server properties in the DNS management console, pointing to your ISP's DNS server and of course all clients have to know the second DNS servers ip.

Best regards

It has been such along time since we set this all up in w2k3. I dont
think my secondary dns is either configured right or working properly.
If I have dns setup and working on the pdc, then shouldnt the second
DC dns server just be pulling the dns tables from the PDC or should
they be primary and active directory integrated?

The reason I ask is because when I took the PDC down last night
(rebooted)
it frops all internet like the 2nd DC then doesnt take on the
responsibility.
The main domain is set to primary on the 2nd dc. If I change it to
secondary then it should allow users to hit it in the case the main
dns
server is down - but it doesnt appear to do that I guess because even
though in dhcp it has it listed as the secondary dns server, they dont
seem to pick it up.

Hello COB,

Check out this:

Only one DC:
Add a second domain controller or you can also ignore the error.

I ran netdiag and dcdiag. Netdiag fine but DCdiag errors with
