Re: Incorrect password Error Code?

Unfortunately, my results don't mimic yours. As far as I can tell all
configs in my prod and dev environments is identical. I use inetOrgPerson
objects and identical bad password simple bind tests using ldp.exe to the two
yields 6A in dev and 6D in prod.

This appears tied to server, not ADAM, config since I get the same results
binding to 2 separate ADAM instances in each environment.

I suppose as long as they're consistent it's not a problem, but it has me
scratching my head.

Thanks.

Hi

I tried a repro and the precision of the error code seems to be a function
of the bind type:

[1]Standalone ADAM

Native ADAM user:
Incorrect password: 0xC000006D
No object (wrong username): 0xC0000064

Local Windows user:
Incorrect password: 0xC000006A
No object (wrong username): 0xC0000064

[2]Domain joined ADAM

Native ADAM user:
Incorrect password: 0xC000006D

userProxy:
Incorrect password: 0xC00000E5 in ADAM Security audit
0xC000006A in DC security log

So what you are seeing may be a function of the type of user? The above was
tested on ADAM 1.1.3790.4188 (from MS08-003).

Nope, they're both running 1.1.3790.2075

Hi

are you running different versions of ADAM in production and dev?
How to determine your ADAM version is here:
