Scratch that, it worked! I removed the read only and tried it again.

I copied it to C:\R2 Support Tools\ and got the error below. I did a
search for schema.ini and found a copy of it in
C:\winnt <--date modified 3/25/2003
C:\winnt\system32 <--date modified 3/24/2005
C:\winnt\servicePackFiles\i386 <--date modified 3/24/2005

Make sure you run adprep.exe under the directory that contains the
following files: schema.ini, sch*.ldf, dcpromo.cs_ and 409.cs_. The
recommended way is running adprep.exe from installation media, such as
CD-ROM or network share. Check the log file Adprep.log in the system root
System32\Debug\Adprep\Logs directory for more information.
