Install ADAM SP1 afer Windows 2003 SP2?

Hi guru,
I have not read the release note of the Windows 2003 SP2 before, my
ADAM/ISA Configuration Store has failed after the SP2 installed. ADAM
has been used for my ISA 2004 enterprise Configuration Store.
Then, got this information

However, I couldn't unintall the SP2 from Add and remove, it got hang
on " "Restoring Catalogs" process and then it said "The system cannot
find file specified" "SP2 was not uninstalled."
So is it possible to install ADAM SP1 on top of my Windows 2003 SP2?
or would it be helpful if we upgrade to R2?
Any help would be appreciated.
