hi Gary,
thanks for the quick reply.
obviously i cant check the server with the waiting for active directory to
start... message on it as it's currently installing but i did look at the
other DC and under the NTDS folder i only have the default string with now
value. under NTDS i have 4 folders - diags, parameters, performance and RID
values. all have dword and string values in them but none saying "Allow
replication with divergent and corrupt partners".
let me know what you think.
thanks

Hi Will,.
Can you tell me if you have any keys set with values under:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\NTDS
Specifically "Allow replication with divergent and corrupt partners" ?
anyhow let me know....

Hi All,
i have a windows server 2000 std SP4 SRV that i want to upgrade to 2003 SRV
R2, I've done the forestprep and domainprep waiting and check that it
replicated to all dc's in my testlab then i start the OS upgrade from 2000 to
2003. All seems to be running fine but half way through the install it seems
to stay witht the following message when installing windows.
"waiting for active directory to start..."
has anyone every ran in to this before?
any help would be great.
thanks
Will
