Recently I installed a w2k3 server on one of my computers in my home
network. During the installation I created a domain and I like the other
computers, starting with my PC that runs XP media, to join it. This PC is
member of a workgroup and does not let me make it a member of the domain
when I go to my computer's properties.
How to make the XP PC member of the domain, please? Do I have to check the
policy for adding workstation to domain on the server side ? what's the
default in a fresh install ?
From the XP i can access the w2k3 but cannot extract files from XP to w2k3.However, from w2k3 I can see the XP but cannot access it. It prompts me for
a user name and password. I tried the credentials of the XP user and
administrator, but nothing works. The message I get is the user name and
password are not correct. This is not true, because I can log on XP locally
with success.
I even disabled the firewall on the XP PC.
My second question is how can I access the XP from the w2k3, please?
Thanks in advance!
