I would make one correction. Each dc is not required to speak to one
another. It just depends on how you want the replication to take place, but
Meinolf is correct when he states ALL three contain the exact same AD
database.

Hello harrytran,
If you have 3 dc's in one domain all dc's will have the SAME database.
They replicate automatically with each other if your setup is correct. And
they have to replicate, because every dc in a domain must have the same
database, so that user can logon use the configured security for them,
access shares etc. You can not configure it like you described.
Since windows 2000 there is no longer a PDC/BDC concept.
Best regards
Meinolf Weber

hi , so let say if I have 1 domain , have 3 DC ( DC1 , DC2, DC3) , I
don't want DC1 and DC2 to replicate to each other , because 2 DC store
different user database . DC3 are backup for DC2 . So may I know what
are the best setting for this ? Must i set DC1 as primary and other 2
DC are secondary DC in the domain ? Thanks all
