Re: Home Folder Issues?

Im' sorry but I'm little lost in your description, you described 3 different
things already:
Your problem is that he Roaming profile isn't being copied to the Server?
Assuming yes, check SHARE and NTFS permissions on the share and use
\\servername\share\%username% instead.

Its not the Home Folder redirection.
It's the profile path at the profile tab.

\\severname\user$
Connect Q: To \\servername\user$.

I am not using any folder redirection.

Ok, but when you define a HomeFolder, the Profile isn't redirected to
that
HomeFolder!!! To do redirection you need to configure GPO or do it
manually
in MyDocuments properties.

Hi Jorge,

Somebody created an user account using AD(server 2003).
He also created the home folder for him using the normal procedure in a
File
Server.

But my problem is when I checked on the File Server I cannot see any
other
files or folders apart from the default files i.e;My Documents and My
Music
with nothing in there. When I checked his computer I can see 100's of
files/folders in MyDocuments but that is not copying back to the file
server.

another one more thing which I noticed is He is logging on as Lin.P as
Set
up by the administrator but when I checked the C\Documents $ Settings,I
cannot see the Lin.P folder But instead it is Lin.FP,may be somebody
has
renamed it when his profile was not working.

Now what I am concerned is I need to do the backup of every profile
when I
am looking on his profile I cannot see any of the files?

please give me some lights.

thanking you

Mill

Hi All,

Our company running on AD on server 2003.
Recently I have added another user with the same procedure which I
normally
does when creating a new account.
I have created the home folder using the profile(tab)-->from Usre's
Properties window from ADUC.
But I don't know some other reason the files My Documents and rest
of
his
profile is not copying into the File server.
Please anybody give me some help to solve this problem cause I won't
be
able
to take the Backup of this user profile??

with regards
mil
