Re: Home Folder Issues?

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Hi Meinolf,

Once again thanks for your reply.

Our structure is as follows.

ADUC---->XXX(Main OU)-->then each Dept OU's.
In XXX we got a logon script for connecting network shares.
Under one of the dept OU(dept.vbs), still the User account is there.

So I am still not understanding why the rest of the people under that dept
OU does not have any problem with updating all the info back to their Home
Folder.

thanks
Millin

Hello millin Spam),

Don't know what your main ou is. But for for the Folder redirection you have
to had the account in the OU where the policy belongs to. Please clarify
where the GPO is linked to.

Best regards

GPOs belongs to the main OU.
otherwise that will cause problems for rest of the users as well, isn't
it?
I haven't run the GPRESULT with that user account yet. I will do it.

any other reasons!!!

thanks

So you have folder redirection enabled in one of your GPO's? Check
that the user is also in the OU to which the GPO belongs. Did you run
gpresult when logged in with that account to see if the policy is
applied?

Hi All,

Our company running on AD on server 2003.
Recently I have added another user with the same procedure which I
normally
does when creating a new account.
I have created the home folder using the profile(tab)-->from Usre's
Properties window from ADUC.
But I don't know some other reason the files My Documents and rest
of
his
profile is not copying into the File server.
Please anybody give me some help to solve this problem cause I won't
be able
to take the Backup of this user profile??
with regards
mil
