Re: Local SID v. Domain SID.

the SIDs (domain and local) are independent of each other

however, the computers with the same local SID have the same security realm, meaning being admin on PC1 also means being admin on PC2

If computers aren't in a domain, they obviously need to have unique
SID's. However, once a computer joins a domain, it gets a second
domain sid - which will be unique automatically no matter whether or
not the local SID is.

So my question is born more out of curiousity than anything - what
would be the issue, if anything, of having multiple computers with the
same SID (maybe made from an image without using SYSPREP) if they are
all added to the domain?

Thanks.
