Further to this topic, is there any issue that I should take care on the
sites and services?

Thanks

Thanks guys,

So, is that mean child domain is not a gd stuff to apply in my company?

If that make things complicated then I will just add an additional DC on
the branch office
and create a new site for that DC so that the PCs in branch office will
be able to use the DC
to authenticate.

Just to elaborate, adding a child domain adds so many complications it
should be avoided. The DC's in the branch office should be in a separate
Site.

Hi
Assuming FOREST at 2003 Level, and a resonable WAN link conection:
- NO. And no benefits in 1st. (the only benefit that you could had was
at replication level, but that would depend on some other things)
- With the information provided the way to go s the 2nd option.

My company is setting up a branch office with around 80 people, they
will be a VPN between the branch and the headquarter office, head
office has an Forest AD domain controller in place, my questions are,

1) Should I create a Child Domain in branch office? What are the
benefits?

2) Or I should just create an additional domain controller in the
branch office will do the job?

Thanks.
