This may be what you're looking for:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Welcome (note, the key does not exist by default)

I apologize. I could not take a direct screenshot because the print screen
wouldn't copy anything without 1st logging on I image. I grabbed a
picture
from the web and circled the area in red where the custom text is
appearing.
The picture was uploaded here http://i22.tinypic.com/2s7yh5c.jpg.
Again this is the box that appears right after someone would enter
control+alt+delete to log onto a windows XP computer

Hello,
Please don't judge Jorge too hard, he is helping people hard. It's just
that
we are following a lot of thread and we may mixed them from time to time.
If you could provide a screenshot, that would be help a lot. Maybe you
can
take a picture from your phone and post it somewhere ?

The version of windows is XP. I think Jorge is too busy lecturing me
instead
of reading what I asked because if he did then he would have realized I
already tried the location he specified and that was not what I was
looking
for. I don't mean to sound ungrateful but if you're going to talk down
to
someone, at least know the situation.

I read that differently than Jorge. I read it that you wanted to
change
the
CTRL+ALT+DELETE box itself to have some sort of warning.
What version of Windows is this?

You should understand what you're doing before starting to mess with
GPO,
I'm saying this because if you start playing with GPO without
understanding about how it works you can get into problems and get
unespected behaviors.
Do at your own risk:
from CMD on the workstation type:
- gpedit.msc
- Then navigate to Computer Configuration->Windows
Settings->Security
Settings->Local Policies->Security Options, then in the right pane
search
for "Interactive Logon: Message Text for users attempting to logon",
clean
the text. In the same place check for "Interactive Logon: Message
Title
for users attempting to logon", clean this one too.
- Then from CMD type:
gpupdate /force
Note: The explanation is to be done in local machine, if you want to
apply
this to a OU, I suggest you to learn a little bit more abou GPO and
how
does it works.

Jorge,
Thanks for the Reply. I understand what you are telling me but I
do
not
no
where to change the setting I described. Someone else created the
other
GPO
that was applied so i don't know where this setting is located in
the
group
policy editor.

Hi
I already told you what you need to do, however you didn't
provided
any
feed
back...
So here it goes again
For that policy you need to create a conflict policy that reverses
the
other
one.
How you do that? Simple (Assuming that you moved that workstation
for
a
new
OU) in the new OU:
- Create a policy that activates that option, BUT the message text
="",
that
will erase the message.
- Run gpupdate /force on the workstation.
- Reboot the workstation.
DONE!!!
Let me know the results

The text I am referring to has been changed so maybe I did not
do a
good
job
of explaining. Basically when the computer starts there will be
a
"welcome
to windows" screen that says "Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete to begin".
After
someone
presses Ctrl+Alt+Delete, there will be a "Log On to Windows"
box.
The
text
message is located in the gray space just below the blue windows
bar
but
above the username box.
The text that is there right now is from a previous GPO and I
need
to
erase
it or change it.
Thanks.

But

where is the gpo setting to change the text that appears
below
the
log
on
to
windows graphic AFTER you enter the control+alt+delete
keystroke?
What
I
tried was Computer Config->Windows Settings->Security
Settings->Local
Policies->Security Options->Interactive logon: Message text
for
users
attempting to log on. When I set this setting, it popped up
a
gray
box
with
whatever text I entered. This is not what I want. The area
where
I
want
the
text to appear is right above the space to enter your
username
and
password
after hitting Control+Alt+Delete. Please help. Thanks.
