What happens if you delete the user account under documents and settings and try it again?

On half of our Server 2003 SP1 DC's, I get this error when trying to
run
gpupdate:
"Failed to refresh user policy. Error - The system cannot find the
file
specified."
The machine policy refreshes without a problem. What has gone wrong
here and
how do I fix it?
