So you're saying that the bat files are no longer in those folders? That seems strange. I know of no mechanism that would physically remove them. Are you defining the logon and logoff scripts from within gpedit.msc or just manually copying the batch files into those folders?

I have 5 computers in an OU that I would like to run logon and logoff
scripts through local GPO's. The logon and logoff scripts are *.BAT
files and they do not error out when run at the command prompt. The
user has the necessary permissions (they logon and run w/ admin
permissions). And they have the necessary permissions to the
directory where the scripts are located. Initially I put the logon/
logoff sripts in: C:\WINDOWS\system32\GroupPolicy\User\Scripts\logon
and /logoff. Well, initially the scripts work but a little while
later (an hour or so) the scripts are no longer in that directory!!
They have been deleted from the directory above! I've tested with
*.TXT and *.CMD files and they also get deleted. I am not seeing
anything in a higher level GPO that would prevent this - there aren't
any logon or logoff scripts running through higher GPOs. Is that the
only thing I should search? What else would be preventing this? I
don't want to have to do a domain GPO for 5 flipping machines! This
should work!! What am I missing?
TIA
Al
