no need to delete the CO before demotion...the KCC on other DCs will take care of that after they see the server does not exist anymore and create new COs to a new installed server or some other DC

A quick question.
What happens if you delete one of the <automatically generated>
connections that have been setup automatically by AD for replication?

I ask because I have a DC that I need to demote and replace with new
hardware. I have two DC's at my HQ and would like the 'connections'
from the other DC's at other sites to all move to our second DC at our
HQ.

If I delete that link, will it automatically be recreated to the
second DC, which is currently holding all the FSMO roles?

Or is their something else I need to do?
