Re: Event 13508 with no 13509

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

Hi
if you do a:
netstat -na |Findstr <portnumber>
is the port listening?

To configure have a look:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/319553/en-us

Note: You must modify the registry setting on each domain controller where
the restricted port is to be used

For troubleshooting have a look at these

I'm having problem File replication from STL to GVL their both windows
2003
with SP2 I have opened port 5099 through the FireWall and add the registry
setting below to all DC's:

Subject
Firewall Port

Do you still have 50000 open? Why did we do 50000? How about 5099? We
could
try this again with 5099.

Modify registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NTFRS\Parameters

Add Value:

Value name: RPC TCP/IP Port Assignment
Data type: REG_DWORD
Value data: 5099 Must be decimal

2) Stop and restart the service, File Replication Service

I'm still getting the 13508 error and after running ntfrsutl version the
error cannot FRS to computer.

Internal DC's in STL our working fine as the internal DC's at Greenville.

Please Help - thank you
