Re: help req: Authoritative restore of SYSVOL

Hello Guys,
Well I just wanted to update here that we went for a d2 and d4. We
wanted a clean slate.
We stopped and disabled FRS on every DC, 302 DCs to be exact. It took
two days since the servers are spread through out the country and
power condition are not good around here. We double checked every
server.
We did a dcgpofix and changed the policies as need. Then did D4(change
burflag value to d4 and started FRS and waited for 13516)
We did a D2(changed burflag value to d2 and started FRS and waited for
13516)
I was pretty happy for a while till this morning, I again saw that my
Domain Security Policy {31B2F340-016D-11D2-945F-00C04FB984F9} is
missing and Domain Controller Security
Policy{6AC1786C-016F-11D2-945F-00C04FB984F9} Folder only contains
empty folder (Microsoft) and a gpt.ini file.
My Scripts folder also vanished.

I created a group policy yesteday for my WSUS deployment and its seems
to be working fine

What exactly happened. I am still trying to figure out. I confirmed
with my team that during d2, we didn't find any server with FRS on b4
doing d2. In short we didn't leave any server with FRS on. It also
make sense since we don't have morphed folders anymore. So I can't
make out, what went wrong.

I have not performed any restore operation. I would like someone to
kindly tell what to do. This is really getting very annoying to say
the least, This is the thrid time I had to perform D2 and it has not
worked this time.

Any assistance will be highly appreciated.

Regards,
Shahid
