Well it took almost two days and no further changes, but it finally pushed
the new GPO over the VPN and to my tablet pc client. I can now edit my

It looks like it is coming fine from the server as other server 2003
systems
where this applied now have the option to change the desktop...
Unfortunately I'm on a tablet pc and that may be an issue all itself....

something is preventing the new ones from applying, check your
configurations, look at the logs on workstations and server, you can also
run netdiag and dcdiag on the server and make sure that no errors are
shown.
you may also want to enable user environment debug logging

I ran rsop.msc and got the big red X on all of it. It still shows the
settings from the old GPO though....

run from cmd
gpoupdate /force
then run Rsop.msc and check if the correct GPO is being applied.

What? I don't care about that. I have setup this GPO myself and am
trying
to reverse it with no luck. I have removed the old GPO from the OU
now
and
made a new GPO without the settings and still I can't access my
display
to
set a background...

Hello, I'm having an issue with a GPO that forces a generic
wallpaper
for
all
users. After it applies nobody even administrators of the
machine
can
change
their wallpaper. Here are the settings in the GPO currently:

Policy Setting
Prevent changing wallpaper Disabled

Desktop
Policy Setting
Remove the Desktop Cleanup Wizard Enabled

Desktop/Active Desktop
Policy Setting
Active Desktop Wallpaper Enabled
Wallpaper Name: \\Server1\installs$\Desktopbmp.bmp
Wallpaper Style: Stretch

Policy Setting
Enable Active Desktop Enabled
Allows HTML and JPEG Wallpaper

Policy Setting
Prohibit changes Disabled
