Re: Update user AD group membership without rebooting

Hello Lawrence,

Unfortunately no, the security assignments are done at login.

Best regards

Sorry maybe I didn't make myself clear, what I meant to ask is this:
Is there any way to refresh a user's group membership WITHOUT them
having to log off and on again. I know that the server doesn't require
rebooting, that would trully be awfull! :)

Thanks

Hello Lawrence,

Normally you just add the user to the group and give some time for
replication in the domain. Then the user has to log off and log on
again and that's it. There is never a need for server rebooting for
this changes.

Hi all,

We have recently come across an issue which requires us to be able
to update a user's group membership (as shown by gpresult) WITHOUT
rebooting. We have 2 W2K3 DCs, and without rebooting, gpresult will
not show new groups, although if the groups are used as security
groups they obvioulsy work immedialtely. I have come across many
questions similar to this without any definitiver answer, so can
someone help us out?

Thanks
