Thanks for your explanation.

Im going to go over it a few times to try to get my head around it.

That is a good idea. Ask me questions. If you are serous in wanting
to learn permissions correctly, then that is precisely what you want
to do.

Go over it until you really and truly but understand it and have it
memorized.

You don't need to memorize *my* words, in fact that is not the
best way to truly understand it, but you do need to memorize the
key ideas so well that you can explain them to others.

Eventually, you will want to understand this so deeply that even
a "smart" friend cannot talk you out of it (without showing clear
evidence using the product) because there are a LOT of smart
people out there that do NOT understand permissions correctly,
and the truth is they are very simple and very logically once you
learn just a couple of exceptions to the half dozen RULES.

Your right on the few really know permissions. The Administrator I
work with when I ask questions, really does not have it nailed down.

Yes, so eventually that is why you have to learn it so well that no
one can talk you out of the truth -- otherwise someone will.

He always have to think it through and then says I think thats it.
Even the instructor at college is not much better.

Most people aren't, and most books don't explain it well either. There
are whole chapters written that say less, and say it less correctly,
than that little page I gave you.

Most people who are told the truth are liable to think, "No, it can't
be that simple" but you seem to have made good progress already.
