Re: synchronization time between 2003 server and vista client

Time for clients (Including member servers) is received from their
authenticating DC. DC's get their time from the PDCe.

Is the Windows Vista Client Domain Joined? This hasn't changed since
Windows 2000. So your Windows Vista Domain Joined PCs should get there
time from the Domain Controller having the PDC FSMO role in the forest
root domain.

What you can do is to check the following register key and make sure type
are set to NT5DS instead of NTP.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\W32Time\Parameters\Type
