Re: Remove a domain from domain drop down list.

Yes, you are absolutely correct.

Thank you for your insight.

I've got a fairly simple structure and a fairly simple question. I've got contoso.local as the forest root, marketing.contoso.local as a child domain and payroll.contoso.local as another child domain.

I want to hide the forest root domain so that users in the child domains can't see them in the domains drop-down list when they do a ctrl-alt-del. I'm not too sure that this is even possible, but it would be nice to hide a domain that none of the users even need to know about.

P.S. If you're response has something to do with "are you sure you need multiple domains" please don't bother posting. I know exactly what I need.

Why bother letting unskilled users even see the drop down - get them all to logon with a friendly e-mail style UPN suffixed logon that hides the domain names and structure completely from them.

Because users are idiots and they will attempt to logon with their email address rather than their domain address. I've already considered what you recommend. Does anyone have an answer to the question rather than an alternate work around?

You're statement is ignorant. You're no one to judge my skills. I'll always have a job. With or without idiots. So take your philosophy and rethink it.

Your job must be a cushy one. I can see it now. You sitting there, picking your nose, talking to your boss about your feelings, listening to what your end users demand instead of telling them what they need.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say that you abide by all the rules and regulations that are crammed down your throat. No motivation and lack of vision. Such a shame... or maybe not... if it weren't for idiots like you, I probably wouldn't have a job!
