local account and AD Groups

I have an issue and I'm not sure how to resolve or workaround it.

We have a process on a server which is a batch scheduler that links to a
database on a UNIX box.

For the service to run it need to use the local account that it creates
when it is installed on the server as it runs 2 separate processes to link
the UNIX box

However due to the global policies we have in place in order to "logon as a
service" the account needs to be an AD account.

I'm at a stalemate...in order to start the services and run successfully, it
needs to be a local account but in order to logon as a service it needs to
be in AD.

Can anyone suggest a way around this please. I know I can't be the only one
with this problem

Thanks in advance
