Re: GPO applying to W2K3 but not W2K

It should be effective on the W2k just as on the W2k3 unless the
GPO is filtered to only apply to the W2k3, or there is another GPO
that applies to the W2k but not the W2k3 setting this differently, or
as Jorge was indicating, things are broken.
You should not expect to see event log entries about DNS problems,
but you would for GP application problems.
Run netdiag on the W2k servers to make sure it's report is clean.

Hi Jorge, I have explored the event log and have not found any errors
relating to DNS configuration. It seems as though this policy is W2K
specific and does not apply to the W2K servers for a reason. I have no
issues with it on the W2K3 servers. Any other ideas? My understanding is
that the domain GPO's will override the local security policies and I have
linked this GPO to the OU containing these servers in AD. Thanks in
advance
for your help!

Hi
Check event log for errors, and DNS configuration.

I have 8 servers that I would like to block access to across the
network.
Each of these servers resides in the parent domain. I would like to
block
the child domain from accessing them. I have tried to apply a GPO that
specifies the CHILDDOMAIN\Domain Users are 'Denied access to this
computer
from the network' but the GPO is only applying to the W2K3 servers. Is
there
a reason why it is not applying to the W2K servers? I need to block
access
to them. Is there possibly a different way to do this?
