Re: WINDOWS RAPLICATION ISSUE

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Hi Matheesha

Thanks for the support.

I am able to pull my remote users from other sites. also i am able to
resolve DC from my dubai dc.

I have run Dnslint I am nit getting any error .

But I am getting following error in my event viewer.

The attempt to establish a replication link for the following writable
directory partition failed. event ID 1925

wHEN i Do manual raplication it is giving active directory replication

Tell how i can verify that My raplication is happening between the DC .

Hi Matheesha

As per your mail & instruction I have created following things

1) In my head off DNS --ForestDNSzone
A record is showing ( ip address -10.1.1.104 which is my doha location) of
Remote domain Controller IP is there.
Also I have tick UPdate associated PTR recored.
2) My head of dns server _msdcs.x.x.x it shwing CNAME recored for my doha DC

Hence I did follwing things
1) mY DOHA DC tcp/ip setting i hev put my head offce ( dubai dns ) ip
address of root domain.
) I have created reverse dns zone for 1.10.in.addr.arpa & in same place I
have created PTR recored to point my doHA dc server host .

But still I AM NOT ABLE TO RESOLVE THE NAME FROM MY HEAD OFFICE to my DOHA
DC..

Tell me wht i have did wrong.
it is require more config

Let e know

Thanks & regards

Based on the above it appears the DNS A records for the above 8 CNAMES are
not resolved or not registered. Have you followed my previous instructions
to configure all domain controllers to point to Dubai DNS and did you restart
netlogon on all domain controllers after doing so?

Even if you havent pointed the domain controllers to one DNS or not, the
important thing is to ensure all DNS entries for all domain controllers can
be resolved. If need be forwarders must be configured where appropriate.
Else host all zones on every DC. Whatever takes your fancy really.

Have you got any zones delegated to other domain controllers? Or have you
got forwarders configured from the root domain DNS to other DNS servers?
If you are running Windows 2003 you can configure "conditional forwarders"
for each domain from the root DNS. This ensures queries for each domain are
sent to specific DNS servers.

I assume you still havent pointed domain controllers at one DNS and restarted
Netlogon. If you havent got copies of the other zones on the root DNS (i.e.
secondary zones or forestdomainDNSZones) then configure eight forwarders
for the 8 domains from the root. Ensure each is forwarded to the relevant
DNS server that is authoritative for that zone.

Once the above is dopne, run the dnslint command as before and see if it
stil complains of glue records it cant find. Thats the first thing to fix.
You will also need to configure each domain DNS server (other than root)
to forward to the root any records it cant resolve.

Post updates here.
