Re: How to check SItes Visited for many Workstations

We use Surfcontrol for a school environment. A bit pricey...but does the job
well . we can monitor real time who is going where down to the actual logon
ID. We can also block sites. cuts down on the advertisement garbage (popups
etc.)
It does require a box that filters all traffic from the router.

IS there any other solutions you can think of? Scripting something....
etc?

Log it at the routers or (better) at a proxy server on such a router.

Proxy servers are designed for this.

What is WRONG with this solution? What would deem as "better"?

You don't necessarily have to spend money; some routers have this feature
already and some proxy servers are free.

Other benefits are that your network access may speed up, you may be more
secure, and you may have better control over when, where, and WHO can
even try to visit the Internet web (etc) sites.

Hi I have A Dept. Supervisor wants to check what sites her staff have
been
visiting on the Internet. This would be done from her own workstation.
Thanks Guys I've been battling with this one for over a month now...

You need some type of proxy server such as Microsoft ISA (costs money)
that can log the access.
