Re: Extreme latency with group policy application installation

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Have a look at the GPO setting to wait for the network before startup. The
default is to time out policies, and therefore do them a bit at a time over
a less than fast network. Admin templates/System/Logon.
That is assuming you don't have any Windows Installer errors in the Event
Log,

Here is the gpresult.txt from a client computer and the gpotool.txt from
the DC. I believe the userenv.log is too big to post.

I'm working in a university environment where I want to deploy software
via
group policy. We're talking MS Office 2003, SAV, Adobe Reader, Flash,
etc.
Probably about 10 programs in all. I have the apps linked in GP for my
lab
computers and each has it's own policy. The correct permissions are set
on
the software distribution share. The problem is that when I re-image the
computers (scheduled for every week) some apps install on some computers
or
all apps may install on a just few computers. There's no pattern here;
one
app may install on a computer but that same app may not be on the next.
It
may take several reboots to finally get the apps to install. I tested it
and
every thing worked fine in the office (of course it was only one
computer).
Also, sometimes my logon script to map printers chooses not to run (I
have
these entered in AD). I have attached an userenv.log and gpresult. txt
file
from a client computer. I've also attached a dcdiag.txt, gpotool.txt, &
netdiag.txt from our student domain controller. Any help would be greatly
appreciated. I'm at my wits end here and my consultants were unable to
help.

Thanks,

Anthony
