This is the scenerio I see it most. Single DC, like SBS, or single DC/DNS
site/subnet, or a very undersized server.

Somewhere there was a good KB on the symptoms, but I can't seem to find it
anymore.

Well, we all (now) understand the error messages.

We just don't know why ALL such DNS-DCs set to use themselves
as preferred don't experience it.

I also agree with the motivation to remove (even spurious) errors, but
cannot recommend that a DC use a machine in another network, or
otherwise unavailable as preferred DNS.

Well, it happened again (ie. both DC's choking on their DNS's). I am
starting to suspect that simply adding a 2nd DC/DNS box breaks the
original DC's ability to use it's own DNS w/o logging lots of errors
and warnings, which I can learn to ignore. But the 6 minute delay
startup delay is painful b/c tthis 2nd DC is a laptop that I need to
take on the road occasionally.
