Yeah, the guy who runs it sometimes has a hard time communicating his great tools to the public at large; sadly many great tools go unnoticed this way..
There's been some talk of a t-shirt being given to people like me that a) tell others about the great tools on that site and b) run into him when he's out and about.
;)
There are other several very useful tools you'll find on that site. It pays to look from time to time. Seriously.

Just downloaded that and will have a play later today.
I was on that site only last week and never noticed this tool,
Michael.

If you search for the computer accounts older than 180 days (that's cautious and means that the users have not had that machine on the network and change it's password in more than 6 months (xp changes it's password by default every month; can be configured to not do that) and you cannot find a lease (if you use DHCP) and cannot ping it, then it's likely not there. You'd have to work out such processes and identification in your own company, but that's often how I've seen it done.

"Michael" <admin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote in message news:umY4$XVSHHA.5016@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxHi,
Quick Q..
When you add a computer to a domain it shows in AD Users and Ccomputers.
When you remove a computer from a domain - it still shows.
What is best practise to monitor these - we have so many at the moment that we don't have a clue what or where they are and guess we can just delete them?
How do others manage them?
Thanks
Michael.
