Since how many time he has left and when u delete the user object u must be

Not sure if anyone can help me. We have a contact for a user who has
now left so we've tried to delete it but it comes up with a message
saying:
Windows cannot delete object because Directory object not found.
Would anyone know how to get rid of it?
Many thanks
Craig
