Re: Password expiration notification



Yes, it is possible to implement a script or some app that will periodically
check when passwords are about to expire and then e-mail a user. Take a
look at kb323750 as a start.

I've used something similar in the past. Used to have a script run every 12
hours that would check if any user was near expiration (that value was
defined in the script by a constant) and then e-mail them to let them know.
The company I work for do this too, as I occasionally get e-mails as I'm a
roaming user with little to no access to company sites.

You can also use a web-page to allow them to change their password, which
you can link to in the e-mail you send. It originally started off as an OWA
thing, but people are using it regardless these days. Google IISADMPWD.
