Well, not really, How about disabling the ability to move parent folders
and
not the child? If I can do this down a couple of levels it might work. It
will solve some of the problems. here is an example of what I mean
000 abc folder
001 def
002 ghi
003 projects
003.1 new projects
project a
project b
project c
003.2 old projects
project 1999
project 2000
004 jkl
I am trying to restrict moving folders 001 - 004 as well as 003.1 and
003.2
but still have the ability to add new project folders like project 2001
and
project d.
Yes Give them only READ on the actual folders 1-4 and the parent of that
folder set.
Then optionally:
Give them create child objects on 1-4 if you wish them to be able to create
new stuff WITHIN 1-4, and set the defaults for the new stuff to norman (
e.g, FC) This is non-standard as the default is to have the parent and
child
the same but it is quite doable if you understand permissions carefully.
