Dear
how to setup ntp server(i have ntp server on network) using gpo.
other computers are not menber of AD. How can i do.
In some sense, (practically) anything can be done through a GPO
(that can be done through the registry or through a script/program),
but this is not likely a good candidate for such unless you have the
MSI for the NNTP server....
If it is only one machine (THE NNTP Server) then can trivially
just setup that server manually much easier than figuring out how
to do it through a GPO.
If you really meant, "Point all my clients" to the NNTP server that
is (already) on the network then the first question to ask is:
"What NNTP client do you use?" -- Outlook Express being the
most common and the only one likely to be installed on all modern
Windows machines.
Perhaps someone already knows how to do this for Outlook
Express (I do not off-hand) but the way to find out is to run
some type of RegWatch and perhaps a FileWatch utility to
monitor a particular client computer while you do the manual
setup -- then determine if the modifications are something you
can easily do through a Registry or Script/Program....
If you can do it by hand, then manually BUT with a script or
registry settings on one machine then you can repeat that
process by adapting it to a GPO with an Administrative
Template file (ADM) for registry settings or by using a
Startup (or logon) script instead.
