I've seen that number in the newsgroups also, which is why I indicated my
source. However, I just logged into my domain with a 105 character password.
Of course, the limit might be different with the OpenDSObject method or
SWbemLocator, older clients, etc.

It is definitely longer than users can practically handle though.
