Are you using R2 or 64 bit in the child domain?

Ok I had discovered that I did not had for some reason the Policies
folder, I restored the folder and ran the last command again, now it did
work, but still I can´t add a new child domain 2003 on the main forest:

The operation failed because:

The Active Directory Installation Wizard cannot continue because the
forest is not prepared for installing Windows Server 2003. Use the Adprep
command-line tool to prepare both the forest and the domain. For more
information about using the Adprep, see Active Directory Help.

"The version of the Active Directory schema of the source forest is not
compatible with the version of Active Directory on this computer."

Help please any hints?

Thanks once more

Greetings to all,

I have a problem, I'm starting to upgrade DC to 2003 by phases on new
servers, and when I was preparing the forest with ADprep I ran into some
trouble:

The "adprep /forestprep" command ran fine;
The "adprep /domainprep" command ran fine;

The problem was the last part "adprep /domainprep /gpprep" it gives an
error regarding folders:

C:\ad2003>adprep /domainprep /gpprep
Running domainprep ...

Adprep was unable to complete because the call back function (null)
failed.
[Status/Consequence]
Error message: Windows cannot enumerate the folders in the local sysvol
director
y <C:\WINNT\SYSVOL\sysvol\mul.net\Policies\*>. Upgrade of Domain Group
Policy Ob
jects failed. (The system cannot find the path specified. )

[User Action]
Check the log file Adprep.log, in the
C:\WINNT\system32\debug\adprep\logs\200612

Can someone help to get out of this, since I still cannot create the new
DC on Windows 2003 R2 x64.

Thanks in advance,
Nuno Teixeira
