Re: Mandatory profile will not load on multiple computers at one t

OK, after some reading I found that Server 03 will only accept 5 concurrent
connections. So that would probably explain why 5 out of 20 or so get
profiles when the rest dont.

I will check with my IT Director and see which server has all of our Client
Access License(CAL) licenses... and store the profiles there to see if this
resolves the issue.

Thanks,

Dan

Hi Ace, Thanks for the speedy response.

The profile was created on an XP box, and the profiles are stored on a Win
2003 server Standard Edition SP1.

I was have the same problems when the profiles were on a Server 2000 box.

Under the share folder options, I tried setting the amount of users to not
only Maximum, but also 25. Neither setting helps. I also created new
profiles, following Microsofts article on this matter to the letter, and the
problem remains.

Is there some place to check concurrent connections on server 2003?

Thanks for your help.

Hello,

I have a few classrooms with from 20 to 25 computers each. My problem
is that when I send a script to make a classroom restart and log in
(These computers are set to auto log in). 5 to 15 of the computers do
not get the mandatory profile.

They get this error:

"Windows did not load your roaming profile and is attempting to log
you on with your local profile. Changes to the profile will not be
copied to the server when you logoff."

My question is, is there a limit on how many computers can grab the
same profile at the same time?

If not what might be causing this issue? 5 can start at the same time
and not have a problem.

Is there a better way to start 20 or so computers up, and have them
log in?

These are XP computers are on a Windows domain. The main DC is Server
2003.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The only thing I can think of is if the mandatory profile is shared on an XP
machine. XP has a 10 concurrent user limit. If on the server, I assume there
are no share limits set on the share's properties, the server has a fast
NIC, fast switch and good wiring.
