Hi, this is my first post. I have a problem in a server 2003 domain
environment where workstations are loosing connection to the Domain.
The timing seems irregular but all get "The domain controller is
unavailable" messages. We are using roll back cards / reset cards in
all workstations, and I made the assumtion that the problem could be
that the Computer Account is sending its new password to the server,
but the rollback is changing it back again, therefore at next log in
the server is throwing the account off the domain. I have tried best
practice of rest account, change workstation to workgroup and back to
domain, and the later seems to be the only solution. However I dont
want to be doing this day in, day out. Does anyone have any
suggestions or has come across this before?
Actually it seems we'll need additional info to help diagnose this. Can you
provide the following for us please?
1. AD DNS domain name.
2. The zone name in DNS and if updates are allowed.
3. Unedited ipconfig /all of the DC and of a sample client.
4. Any event log errors on the DC and client.
5. Clock time zone differences between the client and the DC, if any.
Thanks.
