Re: Folder Redirection Trouble Win2003

These Errors Can have Some different Causes: Generally, these errors can be safely ignored. These errors occur because the DNS server doesn’t have a Reverse Lookup Zone Configured. Although Active Directory doesn’t need Reverse Lookup Zone to function, the Windows 2003 and XP tries to make a secure PTR registration, and because the Reverse Lookup Zone isn’t configured, the OS tries to make a secure PTR registration at the External DNS that is Authoritative over the reverse lookup of the IP on the machine's local interface. If it's a private address it will say cannot establish a secured connection with the server prisoner.iana.org.
Also, nslookup will report "Can't find server name for address <IPAddressOfDNSServer>
You can Create a Reverse Lookup Zone.
or
Disable Reverse Lookup Zone Registration
-Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe).
-Locate the following registry key:
-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters
*On the Edit menu, click Add Value, and then add the following registry value:
Value Name: DisableReverseAddressRegistrations
Data Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 1

I don't have any specific folder redirection based errors or warnings, I have
plenty of LsaSrv warnings Event ID 40961, its below:
The Security System could not establish a secured connection with the server
ldap/dc.company.local/company.local@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx No authentication
protocol was available.

I don't know if it will throw any errors to begin with because it seems like
"My Docs" path is hard coded in the OS and can't even change it, but I'm sure
we can change it in the registry. I think if nothing works out I'll manually
change in the registry and run the same script on all machines to change the
path. Is there any KB on how to change folder redirection path?
