Re: DCPROMO error with Win2003 server std R2 (not adprep /forestprep)

look at:

In Russian

It sounds like forestprep was not run on the Schema Master, or may not have replicated to the Infrastructure Master... Check out the article above and let us know if that helps any.

Hi, i am from Russia and my english not good and i need your support.
I currently have Windows 2000 domain with single Domain Controller without
Exchange server. Domain working in mixed mode. I decided install Windows 2003
Server R2 as a secondary domain controller, then demote Primary Win2000.
What i did:
1) Installed Windows 2003 Server Standart R2.
2) Added it in domain (for example).
3) Installed all requiredupdates & patches from WSUS.
4) Read this article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/325379
5) Made all points from that article step-by-step and got no errors in
log-files.
6) Then i ran "ADPREP /FORESTPREP" and got no errors in
c:\WINNT\system32\debug\adprep\logs\20061125184907\ADPrep.log
7) Ran "ADPREP /DOMAINPREP" and also no errors in logs and events.
8) Ran DCPROMO and got error "Failed to install to Directory Service (8467)"
in DCPROMO.log

What i did incorrect?
