Do you only have one DC?!?!?! I know there is an article on how to do
a sys state restore to different h/w. Just google it or www.live.com

Hi,
I've recently experienced a severe hardware failiure on my only DC. I
now have replacement hardware and i'm setting up windows server 2003
(Standard Ed.) again. However, i'm doing a fresh install since the
hardware i'm now using does not support an IDE hard drive and an IDE
DVD drive at the same time (Installing onto a 250GB RAID1 array) so
doing the repair option is impactical.
My question is, how can I restore my AD database onto this fresh
install? I have the system state backed up and once I finish setting up
Server 03 I can get any data I need off the IDE drive.
I made a backup of the System State data before the hardware failiure,
but it's the whole system state data in one backup, and I dont think I
have the option to not restore the old drivers, which would result in
inability to boot due to different Hard Drive controlloers etc.
If anyone could provide me any assistance with this problem, it would
be greatly appreciated.
KJ
