You can also use net files and net sessions which work on both, however they only work locally, i.e. you can't do remote management. However you could use something like psexec or rcmd to use them remotely.

Hi!.
Computer Managment is for 2000 & 2003. You can see open files on NT 4 with Server Manager, if I am not mistaken.

servers that we have not migrated yet. Will these tools work on them or do
they only work on 2000 & 2003 servers?

Hi!
You should use Computer Managment Tool, System Tools, Shared Files. You can
see all Shares, established Sessions and Open files. Computer Managment can
connect to remote machine.

AD newbie question. In NT Server Manager for there was an in use function
that allowed an administrator to see who had what files open and to close
those resources if needed. Is there a similar function in AD? I looked
under AD Users and Computers but did not see it. I am using the Active
Directory Admin Tools pack for XP. Thanks.
