Remove server frmo AD

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Hi,
We had a server crash but the backup files are corrupted. I reinstalled
Win Svr 2k3 with a different servername. AD still thinks the old server is
still in tact. How do I manually remove the old server from AD?
