just EDIT the GPO with GPedit or GPMC by setting an insignificant GPO
setting, click APPLY, undo the setting, click APPLY again, close the GPO

this should recreate the GPT.INI

it is not a test env! my problem is that i had to take out a DC the
violent
way because of a hardware issu. I could seize the masterroles to another
DC
w/o any problems. I cleand the meta data of AD following microsoft
articles.
Every thing seemed fin until i noticed that the gpo.ini of the default
domain
policy residet on the DC i took out. Thats why I want to delete it and
restore it on another DC. If you have any other advice I'd appreciate it,

I'm running out of ideas...

I don't have a problem but a theoretical question: Is it any problem to
delete the default domain policy after backing it up and to restore it
afterwoods? I'm asking because it is a "special" gpo and i'm not sure
if
the
gpo.ini file has to reside on a special DC.
