This is called supernetting or creating a "catchall" site, it is perfectly
fine, I was doing it a few months after Windows 2000 RTM'ed.

Can someone verify if it's ok to have overlapped subnets in AD Sites and
services? Let say, I want to configure my sites and services as the
followings:

10.20.0.0 /16 - Site 1 10.20.1.0 /24 - Site 2
10.20.2.0 /24 - Site 3

I want clients that use ip address 10.20.1.x, 255.255.255.0 to go to Site
2 and 10.20.2.x, 255.255.255.0 go to Site 3 to look for DCs and anything
else go to Site 1. How would clients determine if it should go to site 1
or 2 if it use 10.20.1.10? There are discussions about using supernetting
to simplify AD Sites and Services configuration, but I couldn't find any
articles on Microsoft web site that talk about supernetting or what are
the best practices? I work in a very large environment that have over
2,000 branches all over the world. I'm trying to get my AD Sites and
Services configured correctly. Any helps are greatly appreciated.
