Michael,
If he is doing the mapping from ADUC, when he sets it to map h: to
\\server\users\%username% and hits OK or Apply, it will create the
folder for him if it doesn't exist. It will also replace %username%
with the appropriate user name. I doubt it is a matter of the folder
not existing, unless he is using another method to map the home
directory besides ADUC, which I guess is possible.
by the way, as a side note... just because it replaces the %username%
with the real username, always use the variable %username% when setting
your home directories. This way, when/if you ever copy the user to
another user, it will create the correct new home directory. If you
don't use the variable, the new user will share a home directory with
the older user == bad.
