Hi
are you running ADAM SP1 on both servers?
when you specified the configuration set to join did you specify the
source instance by a resolvable name (Netbios or DNS) and not
IP address?
Have you met all the pre-reqs for the service account, rights etc?
Search for "Selecting an ADAM service account" in the ADAM Help file.
Outside of the replica install can you authenticate to the remote machine
using the account?
Thanks

I have an ADAM instance on Win 2003 SP1. I'm trying to setup a replica on
a
Win 2003 R2. In the Active Directory Setup Wizard, when I choose the
account, I select "This account" and give a local account and password
which
is identical to the remote account and password. I get a message box with
"The service account for this instance of ADAM cannot be used with the
selected configuration set. The account failed validation with the
following
error: Error 0x80070057 The parameter is incorrect.
I've re-entered (and reset) the password several times. On both the
remote
and local systems I am using local accounts (not DCs setup in our small
network). I am running this over a VPN.
Any ideas?
