I've never tried but You can change rDANAttrID for user class but I don't know if this is supported and I don't know what side effects it may bring into AD, tools, etc.
I like having a firendly name in CN, but it causes problems when it is the naming attribute (RDN)
What kind of problems? Maybe there is other solution?
