Make sure the server is registering itself in DNS. The server should be
pointed to itself also. Use the actual IP address not 127.0..0.1.

I have just installed active directory on a server running on Intel
Xeon
Dual
processor. I created a user under an organisation unit. When i use a
PC
connecting to the domain using the user's information, it would take
approximately 10 minutes to log into the server.

Since both the Domain Controller and client PC are connected through
the
same switch/site, why is user login so slow? This situation never
happens
in
a workgroup environment. The DNS of the cliet machine is also pointing
to
the
server's ip address. I am still figuring what other settings which i
need
to
fine tune.
