This is correct. You are screwed. AD doesn't allow you to view passwords.
It actually doesn't even store them directly, it stores a one way hash, so
it couldn't tell you the plaintext password if it wanted to. It doesn't
know it.
If you need to sync between AD and another app, you should look into one of
the third party password sync apps like psynch or MIIS.
